Sterlite Copper has contributed Rs. 5 Crore to the Tamil Nadu CM's relief fund and joined forces with the state to fight COVID-19. They have distributed 200 sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Thoothukudi Medical College Hospital and the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. Over 1300 litres of liquid handwash, 13000 bars of soap and 1000 bottles of hand sanitizers have been distributed by the company so far. Volunteers from Sterlite Copper have also distributed 30000 masks to 5200 households in Thoothukudi. They are partnering with panchayat ward councilors covering 20 villages to ensure last-mile distribution of protective equipment and hygiene items. Sterlite Copper has also joined hands with 10 Self Help Group (SHG) partners comprising 150 members, to manufacture and distribute masks and personal hygiene items across 20 villages in Thoothukudi.
