Barmer Unnati
The Barmer Unnati Project implements key livelihood and value chain interventions, to enhance the income of the community members. As a part of the Unnati project, our teams help with promoting rainwater harvesting practices to make villages’ water secure and to complement agricultural practices.
Jeevan Amrit and Borewell Project
In collaboration with the government, Cairn initiated the Jeevan Amrit Project to address the urgent issue of clean drinking water scarcity. This project involved the installation of 124 RO plants and 14 Borewell across Barmer district, aiming to provide safe and accessible drinking water to local communities.
Swachh Barmer Swasthya Barmer
To enhance medical facilities at the district hospital, two major interventions have been initiated, deployed a cleaning staff of 62 members to ensure round the clock, the best and most hygienic cleaning practices across the hospital and the augmentation of health services at the government district hospital by appointing and stationing specialists’ doctors.

Project Ujjwal
To support school-going children, Cairn is enhancing basic infrastructure by intervening in 38 government schools in Gujarat. The initiative includes behavioral change sessions, festival celebrations, capacity building for teachers and students, and the introduction of smart classes. These efforts aim to boost retention rates and improve academic performance.

eKaksha
eKaksha is Cairn’s flagship digital learning YouTube channel which provides free and quality education for students in class 6 to 12 in 33 districts of Rajasthan via free streaming on YouTube. We successfully concluded the project in September 2023, handing it over to the government for continued operation and expansion.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Labs
In partnership with the Rajasthan State Government and the State Education Department, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Labs have been set up in Government Senior Secondary Schools across Barmer District. This initiative, in coordination with the District Administration, is designed to enhance digital education by providing students with the infrastructure and tools necessary to develop 21st-century skills, thereby supporting their learning and overall growth.

Cairn Enterprise Centre (CEC) and Cairn Centre of Excellence (CCoE)
We contribute to achieve the vision of ‘Skilled India’ through negating the disconnect between demand and supply of skilled manpower. To fulfill the aspirations of local youth, Cairn has established two training centers – Cairn Enterprise Centre, Barmer and Cairn Centre of Excellence, Jodhpur. These centers are the focal spaces of our skill development programs offering vocational programs focused on enhancing employment and generating sustainable livelihood for the youth.

Maru Sagar
In our efforts to empower dairy farmers by enhancing their income, our initiative, Maru Sagar strives to introducing new technologies, mitigating regional problems such as the adulteration of milk, involvement of middlemen, lack of bargaining power, and much more.

Community Help desk
To enhance community access to state and national government schemes in Gujarat, 16 Community Help Desks (CHDs) have been set up. 11 have been handed over to local operators, ensuring sustainable access to services and generating income for village members. Additionally, a women-centric micro-enterprise was launched to further support economic empowerment within the community.

Micro level interventions (MLI)
Cairn’s CSR strategy is focused on developing a number of avenues for ongoing interaction with communities via the execution of initiatives that address their needs. Our projects are better able to reflect their needs and viewpoints of the community because of these ongoing interactions. Our commitments are rooted in the belief that local, community-based actions can create ripple effects of positive change. Our micro-level interventions exemplify our dedication to addressing specific, immediate needs within the communities where we operate. These interventions have been executed across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Ravva and Exploration (OALP) blocks of our operational areas, benefitting the communities of the region. Among these interventions are campaigns to raise public awareness about health, improvements to local infrastructure, programs to support farming and related activities, drinking water and so on.

Sports Infrastructure
Aligning our community building efforts, we also aim to enhance sports infrastructure, promote sports activities, and support aspiring talent in our operational areas. Sports infrastructure support has been extended to 4 Government Schools of Barmer region where we have constructed two basketball grounds, one football ground, and a running track. These infrastructural developments will inspire more than 1400 students to lead India in sports. In addition to this, more than 13,000 students across 50 Government Schools of Barmer have been supported with sports kits such as cricket, football, badminton, table tennis during the sports tournaments spread across the year have also been organised for the school students to encourage the aspiring talent in the region.

Water
Jeevan Amrit and Borewell Project
In collaboration with the government, Cairn initiated the Jeevan Amrit Project to address the urgent issue of clean drinking water scarcity. This project involved the installation of 124 RO plants and 14 Borewell across Barmer district, aiming to provide safe and accessible drinking water to local communities. By placing RO plants at Gram Panchayats, the initiative alleviated the daily hardship faced by rural women who previously had to walk long distances to fetch water. Over time, these facilities have significantly improved water security, health, and quality of life for the residents of Barmer.
In FY 2024, Cairn successfully transitioned the management of these RO plants to the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and community-based water committees. This strategic handover ensures the long-term sustainability and continuous operation of the water resources, marking a significant achievement in Cairn's commitment to enhancing community welfare and supporting sustainable development through active stakeholder collaboration.

Swasthya Sarthi (Mobile Health Van)
To enhance preventive and curative healthcare, Cairn launched the Mobile Health Van (MHV) project. This initiative aims to improve health standards and deliver quality healthcare services to villages in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The deployed MHVs offer affordable, accessible, and reliable medical care directly at the doorsteps of beneficiaries across 214 villages in these states.

Swachh Barmer Swasthya Barmer
To enhance medical facilities at the district hospital, two major interventions have been initiated, deployed a cleaning staff of 62 members to ensure round the clock, the best and most hygienic cleaning practices across the hospital and the augmentation of health services at the government district hospital by appointing and stationing specialists’ doctors. The team includes an ENT specialist, a general surgeon, and a dentist at the CHC in Baytu.

Project Harit Dhara
Project Harit Dhara, launched by Ms. Priya Agarwal and Mr. Akarsh Hebbar on August 21, 2023, is a pioneering initiative aimed at offering sustainable menstrual hygiene solutions. The 6 month innovative campaign tackles the issue of environmental pollution and health issues caused by sanitary napkins and its waste by promoting eco-friendly menstrual products. It advocates the use of menstrual cups and locally produced cloth pads through extensive community awareness and sensitization efforts.
- 2,000 women and adolescent girls were actively engaged through more than 30 community meetings cum sensitization sessions.
- 3,000 women and girls were educated through our menstrual wellbeing sessions.
- 30 women of a Self Help Group (SHGs) trained to stich cloth pads in a two day workshop
Health
Support to Community and Primary Health Centre
Across our operational areas, we regularly working towards improving the health infrastructure by providing better healthcare facilities at the grassroot level.
- ~35,000 villager served by General ward established at Community health center (CHC), Kawas
- 50,000+ OPDs and IPDs conducted by Cairn supported staff deployed in Primary Health center (PHC) in Ravva and Suvali
- 100% pregnant women in S’Yanam (Ravva) received healthcare services.
Community Engagement
Project Bharosa
Project Bharosa was a comprehensive initiative launched to address critical issues such as domestic violence, substance addiction, suicide, gender disparity, and cybercrimes. Over six months, the project focused on raising awareness and promoting gender equality through four main areas: combating domestic violence, challenging gender stereotypes, preventing cybercrimes, and enhancing gender sensitivity. It involved extensive community engagement, including women, adolescent girls, youth, healthcare workers, and key stakeholders.
The project employed diverse methods such as nukkad nataks (street plays), interactive magic shows, wall paintings, and broadcasts on All India Radio (Akashwani). By targeting schools and academic institutions, it aimed to empower youth and children as change-makers. Ultimately, Project Bharosa reached 200,000 people, striving to foster a society free from gender bias and to instil lasting behavioural changes across communities.
